All stud cattle sold are registered with the Australian Highland Cattle Society. We place a strong emphasis on temperament and only offer cattle that are quiet, safe to handle, and easy to work with. Most will happily stand for a brush in the paddock. Our heifers and steers are sold only after weaning at approximately seven months of age and completing a further 3–4 weeks of handling. By the time they leave us, they are fully halter trained, easy to handle, and comfortable being approached in the paddock for a brush or a scratch with the show cane.
For those looking for a pet or paddock ornament rather than a stud animal, steers are a great option. They still have the classic Highland look, are easier to manage, and are less expensive. We take the same amount of time working with the steers as with the heifers, so we know they have temperaments suitable for pets.
