We purchased Jeelie Bean as an embryo from Bairnsley Highlands based on her pedigree. Her sire, Aenghos of Altnaharra, was a bull bred from two Highlands imported as live animals into Australia in the 1980’s. Her dam, Bean Dearg of Bairnsley, is a lovely, traditional Highland cow with good feet and udder, and she has been a highly successful dam.

Jeelie Bean is exceptional: She’s got so much thickness and capacity to her – you feel above her topline and she’s so, so wide there, but retains that fineness through her front end. She oozes Highland character with her short muzzle, broad head, lifted horns and loads of hair.

Her show record speaks for itself (see below). At only 10 months of age, Bean competed against mature cows and bulls to claim Grand Champion Female and Supreme Highland Exhibit at the 2024 Victorian Highland State Show.

She was AI’d to Seamus of Benmore, and is expecting her first calf in November 2026.
