Enjoy a farm stay in our restored Shearer’s Cottage – a perfect weekend getaway for couples (or singles looking to get away from it all). Situated on our 170 acre farm “Cambus Glen”, the Shearers’ Cottage is a fully renovated sheep shearers accommodation. The cottage is situated in its own private shady garden, overlooking the rolling green (in winter) or gold (in summer) pastures, the Hopkins river valley and the Framlingham forest on the horizon.

The Space

Fitted out as a studio apartment, the cottage has a queen sized bed adjoining the living and dining areas. The fully equipped kitchen has a two plate electric hob, small fridge, microwave and small appliances with a gas BBQ outside on the porch. Tea and coffee and some other pantry basics are provided. There is an air conditioner, a wood-burning stove and electric blanket for those cold winter evenings.

Meet the cows…

… and the chooks, ducks, dogs and horses. In the morning, you can join us (plus the dogs – Gus, Jade and Poppy) for a supervised visit to see our fold of highland cattle and their calves on the morning move, with plenty of great photo opportunities and the chance to brush them. We also breed Indian Runner Ducks and Dorking chickens – an ancient breed famous for having five toes instead of the usual four. It is also possible to take a stroll along the river, where koala sightings are guaranteed, but wallabies and, very occasionally, platypus can also be spotted.
